I may be strange, but every time I hear a woman say that they are starting a business, I feel as excited as I do when my friends tell me that they are expecting a new baby… You see, those two subjects are different and very much the same at the same time. Being an entrepreneur is great and being a mom is great.
One demands as much as the other. Being a new mom, you will have many sleepless nights with your baby and being an entrepreneur you will also have many sleepless nights with a business. You will feel very proud when your baby does something new and you will feel also very proud when your business reaches new heights. The emotions are different but similar.
One thing I have learned by being a mom and an entrepreneur is that both demand patience and personal growth. The more wisdom you have for your child to guide them through life, the better it is. The exact same thing is true when you are an entrepreneur. The more personal growth you commit to doing, the higher the business growth you will experience. It’s as if your personal growth is a reflection of your skills as an entrepreneur.
So, how does one invest in personal growth? Where do you start?
Well, one of the thing that mom entrepreneur have is, what I call: mommy guilt. They feel guilty for putting themselves first, they feel guilty for putting themselves last, they feel guilty for being away from their kids, they feel guilty for not having enough money to say yes to more for their family… guilt, guilt, guilt.
What I suggest is for my mom entrepreneur to realize that sometimes, it’s necessary to put yourself first. Sometimes, it’s necessary and healthy to spend a couple of nights away from the family so you can grow your business and be able to have the money to say yes to more. It’s OK. And it’s good.
What I suggest my mom entrepreneurs to do to begin their personal growth is the following:
- Join a Networking group. BNI is a great networking group. If you cannot afford the cost of BNI, look into Meetup groups.
- Look into hiring a coach. A successful entrepreneur has a coach. Period. A great coach is well worth the investment.
- You must surround yourself with positivity. Get yourself audio books from Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Dale Carnegie, Stephen R covey, etc. Listen to these audio books while working out, doing house work, driving the car, etc.
- Join online group of like-minded people
Lastly, keep on keeping on. Being an Entrepreneur is amazing, just like being a mom is. You can do both. You can have it all. Never give up on your dream because you are a mom now… Instead, be the example for your kids that you can be, do and have anything you dream and that includes a wonderfully well balanced family, a healthy body – your nutrition is imperative: be mindful of what you eat for you are literally what you eat… healthy self-esteem and be an independent woman that directs her own life by being a mom entrepreneur.
For help with nutrition, my family and I use two services. One is Amazon fresh, because it saves me having to go to the grocery store. I go online, pick what I want and they bring it right to my door. It’s awesome! For more info, check out this link: https://fresh.amazon.com/welcome;jsessionid=7BB7671D4AF7BE0684F912AEFE839DC0
And the other thing I highly recommend is Juice Plus. My family and I have been taking Juice Plus for 7 years and we love it. It’s simple. Easy and we get 30 fruits and vegs a day in capsules. So no yukky vegs juice to drink. It’s awesome. For more info, click on this link: http://www.feedurbody.juiceplus.com
I hope this article helped you.
